Our Blenheim campus provides learning opportunities for students in years 3 – 13 and is seeking to appoint a Student Support Assistant (Teacher Aide).

• Part-time basis until December 2025 
• 20 hours per week, term time only  
• This role is Monday - Thursday 8.30am start

This role involves working alongside our classroom teachers, on a one-to-one basis with individual students, as well as small groups in the secondary school space.  The role also requires the ability to monitor, gather data and communicate with family and staff.

While induction will be provided, the following experience and skills are essential:

Skills and Experience:

• Experience supporting young people with learning challenges.
• Experience applying effective strategies and opportunities for learning.
• An understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum and of different learning methods.
• A good level of digital competency.
• Ability to cater for a student’s varying needs, including implementation of strategies to support development of communication and learning.
• Excellent relationship building and communication skills.
• Patience, resilience, adaptability and empathy.
• A background in educational in psychology would be beneficial but is not a requirement.
