Campus Student Support Assistant – OneSchool Global Wellington
Part-Time | 20 Hours per Week | Monday – Thursday, 9am – 2pm

The Role

As our Campus Student Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students build knowledge, confidence, and access to the curriculum. Working closely with teachers and families, you will provide tailored support to identified students in Years 3–13.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting individual students or small groups in the classroom, Learning Centre, or withdrawal spaces.
  • Implementing support programs and activities as directed by teachers or other professionals.
  • Assisting students with special needs, including Autism, Down Syndrome, and sensory or communication challenges.
  • Contributing to Individualised Education Programmes (IEPs) by attending meetings and providing feedback.
  • Assisting with clerical tasks such as typing notes, preparing teaching materials, and organising off-site activities.
  • Supporting student inclusion in areas such as self-care, personal safety, and mobility.
  • Participating in school activities, including sports and life skills programs, as required.
  • Promoting health and safety for all staff and students in the school environment.

About You

To thrive in this role, you will bring:

  • Knowledge of supporting students with special needs in Reading, Writing, and Math's.
  • An understanding of teaching styles, learning methods, and school curriculum areas.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
  • A proactive, positive, and team-oriented attitude.
  • A genuine passion for working with young people.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to multitask and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or working in an educational setting (desirable but not essential).

Hours & Location

This is a part-time position, working 20 hours per week: Monday to Thursday, 9am – 2pm.
The role is based at our Wellington Campus, conveniently located and easily accessible.
