About the opportunity  

 

The Senior Human Resources Partner plays a pivotal role in helping build and sustain an engaged, high-performing workforce, providing coaching and HR expertise to leaders and employees.  

You will be responsible for supporting several school campuses across a defined geographic region spanning collaborating closely with senior leaders, offering proactive guidance to maximise employee performance and engagement 

 

You will be required on occasion to travel to your designated campuses to attend to HR matters and proactively develop and maintain relationships. All travel costs will be covered by the business.  

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Providing day-to-day advice and support to Senior Educational Leadership Teams in all aspects of human resources management, performance and coaching.
  • Lead global and regional HR initiatives and projects, contributing to the OSG Pillars of success that include developing a High Performance Culture.
  • Working closely with the Talent Acquisition team, actively support OSG hiring requirements to source high-calibre talent.
  • Actively partner with staff and leaders to identify areas of risk and opportunities for improvement to staff engagement and performance.
  • Develop, evolve, and maintain regular monthly reports and dashboards covering key people priorities for campuses and departments. 
  • Coaching and supporting leaders to manage employee relations issues in line with school policies and best practice, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, and absence management.
  • Leading and reporting on workforce planning and budgeting processes in conjunction with State and National Leadership.
  • Recommending and implementing improvement initiatives relating to HR policies, processes, systems with a view to positive staff experience.
  • Keep abreast of and understand and interpret relevant legislation to enable effective staff relations and compliance.

 

About You 

  • Demonstrate a coaching HR leadership style with experience working with and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Proven experience transitioning organisational change initiatives into the day-to-day operations through change and transformation. 
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or 5+ years’ experience in a broad HR leader capacity.
  • Experience in a partnering role, providing advisory and coaching for staff, managers, and leaders and influencing positively at all levels.
  • Experience with HR information systems, in delivery of operational HR support.
  • Demonstrated experience with interpreting and applying knowledge of awards and/or other industrial agreements, providing advice to management and employees.
  • Ideally, experience in the school or education sector.
