Purpose
As a Houseperson, you show your passion and flair for delivering exemplary customer service, striving to ensure each customer experience is memorable. Assist housekeeping team by to ensure that the hotel is cleaned to the required standard whilst attending to the needs of the guests at the hotel.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain immaculate presentation and grooming, wearing designated uniform and name badge at all times.
- Action guest requests promptly and efficiently.
- Release rooms to front office as and when required.
- Read notice board and daily briefing sheet and action items as directed.
- Deliver linen and guest amenities on floors.
- Maintain stock levels and clean service areas.
- Collect dirty linen and deliver to laundry pick up area.
- Collect rubbish from floors throughout the day and stack laundry for pick up.
- Collect guest dry cleaning
- Place and collect roller beds, cots and other in-room guest requests.
- Ensure all electronic devices and lights are functioning properly in rooms and hallways.
- Report any guest complaints immediately to your supervisor or manager.
- Maintain housekeeping trolleys and equipment.
- Undertake vacuuming, dusting and cleaning of common areas including corridors and foyer.
- Maintain storeroom and chemical rooms and ensure they are kept neat and tidy.
- Clean and maintain the established quota of guest rooms, working systematically to keep the workplace and equipment neat.
- Ensure the security and care of guest belongings and hotel property. Report any suspicious happenings to your supervisor or manager immediately.
- Clean hotels areas and structures as requested such as lifts, windows, seating areas, light fitting and public area toilets.
- Ensure public toilets are checked, cleaned and replenished each day.
- Perform any other reasonable task or instruction as directed by management or a representative of management.
- Maintain clear and concise communications with all departments and management regarding any special guest requirements or requests.
- Assist other departments on busy days and complete any other duties as request by the department Supervisor or Manager to meet business demands.
- Attend and actively participates in training programs as required.
- Put into practice in the business all TFE training that has been completed.
- Have a complete understanding of hotel facilities and services with the ability to respond to guest enquiries.

Skills, Experience and requirements
- You have (ideally) 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role in a similar size property
- You have high level attention to detail with ability to thorough and accurately focus on all elements of a task or situation, to ensure precise examination.
- You can physically meet the demands for this role, including:
- Frequent kneeling, bending and squatting
- Frequent standing and walking
- Overhead reaching and frequent upper limb movements
- Climbing steps and ladders
- Frequent push/pull various items such cleaning supplies, furniture and housekeeping trolley
- Frequent gripping and lifting (from floor to waist height and vice versa) and carrying equipment (< 20kg)
- Occasional fine motor skills and hand dexterity to operate devices as well as answering and placing phone calls
- Immaculately presented – you have exceptional grooming and always wear the appropriate uniform and name badge, with pride! You make sure your team always look the part too.
- Exceptional communication skills - Multilingual would be viewed as an advantage, with spoken and written English at a proficient level.
