Snowsports Head of Performance and Training

Through the NZSki Performance Academy, we’re shaping the future of snowsports training and education - we’re looking for a visionary Head of Performance and Training to join our leadership group and lead this charge.
In conjunction with Snowsports Experience Manager and Head of Revenue Operations, you will provide strong leadership and communication of strategy and direction in Training as well as Performance Academy. You are responsible for planning, leading, managing and supporting the performance of inhouse training including Lead Trainers across Coronet Peak and The Remarkables.
Your role will also be responsible for:
- Responsible for constant maintenance of the Instructor Development Pathway in conjunction with Project Owner.
- This platform clarifies instructor performance and capability metrics, providing the data required for work allocation.
- Along with Manager Snowsports Experience drive constant improvement in quality of lessons, programmes and Performance Academy experiences as rated by Snowsports NPS and guest ratings of experience with instructor.
- In-season in co-ordination & leadership of trainers involved in Instructor Training Programmes, Performance Camps, Junior Performance Academy, Women’s Shred Camps.
- Responsible for training of Rippers instructors prior to programme start dates
- Designing and delivering world-class training for all levels of instructor.
- Champion high standards of quality and performance.
- Align training with business and guest experience goals.
- Cultivating a growth mindset including adaptability and positivity across the team.
- Continuously improving instructor performance in order to exceed guest expectations.
The successful candidate will
- Minimum Qualification – Level 4 / Trainer Cert / Examiner level
- Capable of delivering a progressive and world class training environment to improve the quality of NZSki Snowsports Instructors/Trainers.
- Drive performance improvement initiatives across Snowsports.
- Deliver at a high level of presentation skills
- Communicate professionally and effectively with all Snowsports’ stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse team
- Expertise in instructor development pathways.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a professional, positive mindset.
- Full availability during the NZ winter season, free of any external employment commitments.
