As Queenstown Schools and Groups Team Leader you will be responsible for ensuring an exceptional experience for our Schools and Groups guests. Key duties include scheduling of your team across both Queenstown mountains to ensure S&G Co-ordinator coverage 7 days/week at all locations. You will manage the Queenstown S&G team ensuring we have a seamless and efficient booking processes for Regional and Australian S&G guests.
A key measure of performance is how well you engage with all stakeholders including maintaining high standards of responsiveness and communication with operational teams on both mountains, and NZSki transport.
A key function of the role is in-season management of pre-booked Local Schools Camps, Regional (NZ) Schools and School Tour bookings from trade agents from Australia. You will communicate and work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure they have all the information required to plan ahead for allocation of resources. Prior experience in the Snowsports industry would be beneficial in supporting the customer journey of Schools and Groups.
About the role
- Manage in-season regional NZ and Australian School Tours bookings from enquiry to visit planning, hosting on arrival to mountain, and account reconciliation.
- Collaborate with all operational stakeholders minimum of a week in advance to ensure a seamless experience for S&G guests as well as stakeholder experience with the S&G team.
- Ensure timely and accurate quoting, billing, and advance payment processing.
- Maintain and update databases, processing requests efficiently.
- Coordinate with teams on disrupt days to manage capacity and create a plan of action.
- You are the in-season main communication point for Local, Regional and Australian School Tours, starting at 7am daily. On disrupt days our reservations team will co-ordinate with you on any opportunities to reschedule. This may mean lift and rental options only.
- You will be handed the overall season plan which has evolved over summer and take it into winter with this planning already in place. Your role is to take the baton from the summer S&G team and execute the 2025 plan together with your Schools and Groups coordinators.
- You will understand that the boundaries of your role lie with Schools & Groups, this role does not have cross-department authorities.
About You
- Minimum three years of experience working with Schools and Groups coordination.
- Experience in front-line customer service and deliver a world class guest experience.
- Excited about winter Snowsports environments, leadership and excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook and experienced with Point of Sale and Scheduling systems.
- Skilled in managing high volume client bookings and account reconciliation.
- Calm under pressure and adaptable to changing environments.
- Knowledge of NZ school risk management processes (preferred).
- Resort Management Software experience is preferred
