Coronet Peak and The Remarkables are looking to employ a Medical team on each mountain. We are looking for experienced Doctors to join our crews at Coronet Peak and The Remarkables ski areas for the upcoming season. The position runs from early June to mid October. 

The Ski Area Doctor will provide medical treatment for guests and staff on-site (both paediatric and adult trauma cases) at our Ski Area medical facility. You will be required to provide front line medical care as well as manage the Ski Area Medical Facility.

About you

  • have four years of post-grad experience, with a mandatory minimum of 6 months in Emergency Medicine experience
  • are a genuine good human beings
  • hold Core Advanced Certificate (issued within the past 3 years)
  • have comprehensive knowledge of accident and emergency triage
  • might have Orthopaedic, sport injuries and Anaesthetic experience (valuable, not essential)
  • have previous Medical Practise management skills (would be an asset).
  • Holds a current annual practicing certificate
  • Holds current medical indemnity insurance
  • Has knowledge of the New Zealand Health System, particularly ACC
  • Must be comfortable working in an alpine environment in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Good knowledge of ski area snow conditions, and the ability to ski or snowboard in all weather is an advantage, however not a requirement.

If applying overseas you must be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand, or eligible for registration to practice as a GP. Assistance for registration and work visa sponsorship will be provided for successful international applicants. Accommodation may be available for exceptional candidates.
