About the job:

 

We’re looking for an experienced operations manager to be responsible for the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance for our New Plymouth branch and sub-branches.

 

You will be responsible for meeting or exceeding the budgeted financial returns by continually improving operational efficiency through effectively managing resources, leading a large team of direct reports and maintenance staff, delivering excellence in contract service and customer relationship management and achieving set goals in health & safety, quality and environmental management.

 

An alignment with Citycare Water’s values and a commitment to upholding Te Mana O te Wai will ensure success in this role.

 

What you’ll need:

 

  • Ideally you will have a relevant qualification (certificate, diploma or degree) in Engineering or Operations, or equivalent experience.
  • National Certificate in Utilities Maintenance Lvl 4 and TMP are desirable.
  • Strong project management experience and technical skills in Water and/or Wastewater networks is essential as well as commercial contracting/service industry experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years successfully leading a large team.
  • Further exposure to business improvement systems, tendering and asset management would be highly advantageous.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to build relationships is a must.

 

All preferred candidates will be required to complete preemployment checks to the employer’s satisfaction. These checks include but are not limited to, ministry of Justice criminal conviction report, medical assessment, and drug and alcohol testing.
