About the job:

We’re looking for an experienced Manager to grow and lead our Water Quality Team of Technicians, Samplers, and Administration.

In this role you will be the subject matter expert on water treatment operations, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of 52 water treatment sites throughout Christchurch and Banks Peninsula, to ensure the safe an efficient delivery of water to customers.

As well as leading your team of dedicated and experienced water experts, you will provide guidance to other teams, stakeholders and maintain good client relationships through communication, collaboration and timely resolution of issues.

Your passion for environmental sustainability, an alignment with Citycare Water’s values and a commitment to upholding Te Mana O te Wai will allow you to be successful in this role. 

What you’ll need: 

• It is essential that you have strong knowledge of water quality regulations, treatment processes and industry best practices.
• At least 5 years of experience in water treatment or reticulation systems management, including leadership experience.
• New Zealand Diploma in drinking water treatment Lvl 5 and formal management, leadership or engineering qualifications are highly desirable, but not essential.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to inform decision making.
• Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget and to specifications.
• It is crucial that you have strong leadership skills/experience and the ability to form relationships with the team, the wider organisation and other stakeholders.

All preferred candidates will be required to complete preemployment checks to the employer’s satisfaction. These checks include but are not limited to, ministry of Justice criminal conviction report, medical assessment, and drug and alcohol testing.
