National Subcontractor Manager - Christchurch or Wellington based
Position Overview (Te Arotahi Matua):
Citycare Property is seeking a National Subcontractor Manager to lead the strategic development and management of our National Subcontractor Framework (NSF). In this role, you will oversee the onboarding, performance, and ongoing management of 750+ subcontractors across Aotearoa, ensuring alignment with operational needs and compliance standards. You will drive improvements in subcontractor processes, performance monitoring, and establish a high-performance, collaborative subcontractor network.
This is a full-time role based in either Ōtautahi (Christchurch) or Te Whanganu a Tara (Wellington).
Other key Responsibilities (Ngā Kawenga Takohanga) include:
- Overseeing subcontractor performance, promoting excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Developing and implementing best practices for subcontractor selection, evaluation, and management, ensuring quality and cost competitiveness.
- Establishing performance benchmarks and ensure compliance with policies, health & safety, and industry standards.
- Benchmarking subcontractor rates against industry standards and comparing them to ensure cost competitiveness and optimal value for the organization.
- Building strong relationships with subcontractors, fostering a sense of partnership.
About You (Ko Koe):
We seek a proactive, strategic leader with at least 10 years’ experience managing large subcontractor networks, ideally in construction, infrastructure, or property management. You will bring:
- Proven expertise in managing complex projects and teams.
- Strong knowledge of contract administration, compliance, and risk management.
- Experience developing systems for subcontractor management, including vendor management systems.
- A focus on risk identification, compliance, and continuous improvement.
