Studnt Support Assistant (Special Education Assistant)

OneSchool Global is seeking a dynamic and creative Student Support Assistant (Special Education Assistant) to fill a leave coverage in our Maple Creek Campus. As a Student Support Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in fostering an inclusive learning environment and providing tailored support to students. This position requires a proactive individual with a passion for education and a commitment to empowering students to reach their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Implement instruction in various environments, based on lesson plans provided by the Student Success Leader or teacher
- Reinforce learning with individuals or small groups, catering to the diverse needs of students
- Provide personalized assistance to individual students, ensuring their academic and social success
- Support observations, data recording, and charting activities to monitor student progress effectively
- Collaborate with the team on ongoing behaviour management strategies, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Prepare, produce, and maintain instructional materials under the guidance of the teacher and/or SSC, ensuring accessibility and relevance to student needs
- Assist in developing schedules to optimize learning opportunities and support student engagement
- Actively participate as a valued member of the team, contributing to collaborative planning and implementation of student support initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Inclusive education experience
- Strong understanding of the IEP process and documentation
- Experience in alternative curriculum development
- Experience teaching using virtual platforms
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
