With a commitment to sustainable development and innovation, we operate world class open cut and underground Coal mining operations.  We seek an experienced Project Manager – Coal Handling & Processing Plant (CHPP) to join our team and drive the successful delivery of a major and critical project.


Role Overview


As Project Manager – Coal Handling & Processing Plant (CHPP) you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of the CHPP SOW for this major and critical project.

You will manage the project lifecycle for this project’s stream (coal handling and CHPP), ensuring adherence to safety, quality, budget, and timeline requirements while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to meet operational objectives.

Regular interstate travel will be required by the successful applicant.


What you will do:

  • Project planning and execution
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, and resources
  • Lead the development and execution of coal handling and CHPP for this major and critical project, which may include feasibility studies, design, tenders, construction and commissioning
  • Develop, scopes of work, reports, presentations and other project related documentation
  • Stakeholder engagement (internal and external)
  • Collaborate with regulatory authorities, engineering consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project alignment with organisational goals
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and communication.
  • Provide regular project updates and ensure clear communication of objectives and progress.


What you will bring:

  • Technical leadership in the design and construction of CHPP’s, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, environmental regulations, and safety requirements
  • Ability to conduct technical reviews and provide engineering solutions to project challenges
  • Experience preparing, negotiating, and managing tenders and contracts with vendors, consultants and contractors
  • Ability to monitor contractor performance ensuring delivery of work within agreed scope, quality, and timelines.


What you will need:

  • A recognised degree or equivalent qualification or at least 15 yrs relevant experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management, with a strong focus on CHPP, coal, or heavy industrial projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large scale coal mining or related resource projects
  • Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
