About This Role
The Health Specialist – Group will support the organisation to develop and implement group wide standards, systems and programs in line with the governance framework and HSE strategy.

The role will incorporate industry leading practices to enable a consistent and standardised approach to support operations and influence the health and safety strategy.The Health Specialist will implement Group and site wide health and hygiene standards, systems and programs. Providing leadership in Health and Hygiene on-site.

This role is ideally based in our Brisbane CBD Office. Regular travel will be required on a monthly basis to our NSW and QLD operations. This role is an 8 month max term opportunity.

What You’ll Do

  • A shared vision and commitment to an industry-leading health and hygiene programs
  • Support and subject matter advice to Operations in the execution of WHC H&S processes and strategies such as injury and health management, and fitness for work.
  • Facilitation of health and hygiene improvement strategies.
  • Improvement of health and hygiene outcomes through the implementation of new methodologies.
  • Support Operations with the implementation of the fitness for work, health surveillance and injury / illness management programs.
  • Close and supportive relationships with Operations, ensuring best practice health and hygiene management is championed and prioritised

What You’ll Bring
The successful applicant will possess strong leadership and organisational skills and a commitment to improving workplace health and hygiene practices. In addition, the following qualifications and experience are required:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Health (Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Hygiene or related discipline)
  • Knowledge of WHST legislation and statutory requirements in QLD and NSW
  • Experience in Occupational Health roles and heavy industry / mining is preferred
  • Experience in Injury and Case Management and Classification
  • Experience in health and well-being program coordination and delivery
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
