About the Program

The Whitehaven Graduate Program is a dynamic two-year rotational initiative that will immerse you in various teams, sites and business functions, giving you a well-rounded understanding and exposure of the company and the mining industry. By the end of the program, you’ll be fully equipped to thrive and make a lasting impact in your chosen career path.

Our program will see you mentored by senior leaders, gaining invaluable coaching and guidance whilst obtaining practical skills through hands-on experience and formal training in the mining industry.

Our Graduate Program rotations are team and location-based and may require relocation in the Gunnedah and Narrabri regions in NSW, or the Blackwater region in QLD. For Daunia, the role will be FIFO from a QLD location.

Our key operational sites include:

NSW

  • Maules Creek Open Cut
  • Narrabri Underground
  • Vickery Open Cut
  • Tarrawonga Open Cut
  • Gunnedah Coal Handling Process Plant

QLD

  • Blackwater Mine
  • Daunia Mine

The ideal applicant will be adaptable and open to rotating across our various sites, including opportunities in different states.

Learning and Development

We provide learning and development opportunities for all graduates tailored to your career trajectory. This includes the relevant technical skills training, personal development and mentoring to support you in meeting your true potential.

Our Graduate Program presents an exciting opportunity to relocate to the region in which the mine operates; Gunnedah or Narrabri in NSW and Blackwater or FIFO to Daunia for our QLD based sites.
