About The Role 

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced residential Mining Superintendent to join our new Vickery mine team.

Based at our new Vickery Mine and reporting to the Operations Manager, The Mining Superintendent will be accountable for mining operations and ensuring the alignment of activities and tasks with our business goals. The Mining Superintendent is also responsible for providing support to the Operations Manager in delivering planned outcomes.

What You’ll Do

• Actively participate in the implementation and maintenance of the Health and Safety Management System and Plans, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements by all staff within area of responsibility
• Provide input to the development of operating plans
• Direct contractors in accordance with contract and ensure service level of agreement is met
• Lead the mining team in execution of the agreed plan
• Monitor mine operations and maintain consistency with environmental requirements and consent conditions.
• Establish and maintain a good workplace culture

With superior skills in process analysis and a strong systems-based approach, sound planning skills you will be an excellent problem solver.

• Mining Supervisor (NSW OCE) or Mining Engineering Manager (NSW MEM) Practicing Certificate.
• Minimum 10 years of mining experience to include supervision of mining activities, overburden movement, coal quality management, contractor supervision and Business Improvement
• Previous Experience as a Mining Superintendent
• Demonstrated safe and productive management of mining operations
• Statutory compliance and operational discipline
