About The Role
An outstanding opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to join our team at our Newcastle Office. You will be responsible for preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting for a mine site; stewardship of the ledger; and the utilisation of BI system to prepare insightful reporting and understand business performance.

This includes completing the month end processes, annual budgeting and mid-year forecasts, using the ERP ledger, and generating reporting and insights through BI systems such as IBM Planning and Analytics. The role will also be responsible for assisting auditors with providing information. 

This role is based in our Newcastle Office and will require travel to the Gunnedah region once a month. Site visits are key to build relationships with your stakeholders to ensure an effective partnership with site based personnel and to learn the ins and outs of our operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Complete all management accounting and financial reporting, including monthly mine site reporting and any ad-hoc reporting.
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support audit requirements for multiple mines during hard close, half and full year audit processes, and joint venture accounting and reporting.
  • Stewardship of the general ledger for company codes, ensuring correct allocation of expenses.
  • Develop expertise in Pulse (ERP) and TM1 (BI software).
  • Involvement in testing of system updates.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor of Commerce / Accounting / Business or related field.
  • CPA or CA membership
  • 3+ years management accounting experience & mine accounting experience (Desirable)
  • Systems experience (TM1 Planning Analytics, Pulse are desirable).
  • You are dynamic, driven, energetic and have a positive attitude.
  • You display a ‘growth mindset’ and have a strong desire to learn and improve.
