About the Role

This permanent part-time (21 hours per week) role is based in North Parramatta, with availability on Tuesdays essential for team meetings, group supervision, and coaching.


Are you passionate about strengthening families and keeping children safe at home? As a Caseworker in our Intensive Family Preservation (IFP) team, you’ll work closely with families at risk of entering the child protection system, providing intensive, strengths-based support to help them build resilience, develop parenting skills, and create a safer home environment.


At Uniting, we believe that supporting families before a crisis leads to better outcomes for children. Your work will be pivotal in:

  • Preventing unnecessary entry into Out of Home Care (OOHC)
  • Conducting child and family assessments and providing intensive home visiting support
  • Providing planning and support for the safety of children, and young people and taking appropriate action where the safety of a child or young person is at risk
  • Developing collaborative case plans with families and providing skills, knowledge and practical support for caregivers and children to support families to feel better equipped to nurture their children’s development and wellbeing.
  • Connecting families to community services and long-term support where necessary


About You


We welcome both experienced professionals and recent graduates who are ready to make a difference. To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Welfare, or a related field
  • Experience (or placement experience) working with children and families in a casework capacity
  •  An understanding of child protection, risk assessment, and trauma-informed practice
  •  Strong relationship-building skills to engage with families and break down barrier
  •  A commitment to working collaboratively and providing culturally responsive support, including with Aboriginal families
