Corporate Real Estate Associate – Full time, Permanent role based in Sydney CBD – Hybrid work model
Role Purpose
Reporting to the Corporate Real Estate Manager, this role will assist with the end-to-end real estate transaction process for Uniting. This role is pivotal in meeting internal customer requirements for property needs while aligning with the organisation’s strategic property and financial objectives.
Uniting’s property portfolio comprises approximately 200 owned sites and a further 200+ leases in NSW and ACT, This role will be directly involved with these leases, which have annual rental commitments of approximately $12.5M as well as non-operational/investment assets generating approximately $15M annually.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Corporate Real Estate Manager on property processes and functions such as acquisitions, sales, lease transactions, contracts and other job -related duties as required.
- Negotiate directly with agents/landlords on Residential Tenancy Agreements (RTA) and with internal Church bodies for the use of properties on an internal lease/MOU/hire basis.
- Financial management, including creation and management of purchase orders and invoices and problem-solve discrepancies as they arise.
- Process rental payments for all leasehold properties within the portfolio and work with the Finance team to ensure rents are paid in line with lease commitments.
- Review rental payments in the finance system on a monthly basis and raise any discrepancies with the Finance team.
- Support the Corporate Real Estate team in the delivery of a wide range of outputs and assist with projects and key tasks.
- Maintain a register of leased properties and financial commitments.
- Assist with the reporting on financial performance and occupancy levels on a monthly/quarterly basis.
Qualifications and Experience
Ideally, you will have at 3+ years’ experience working within the Commercial or Residential property sector with knowledge of property terminology and processes. You will have outstanding written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail.
- Strong IT/computer literacy including working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. A minimum of intermediate level Excel skills is required.
- Proven experience and understanding in Corporate Real Estate transactions; leasing, mergers and acquisitions, sales, sale and lease back strategies and due diligence processes.
- Experience working closely with external agents, landlords and property owners to execute transactions.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting teams and staff of a variety of levels and disciplines in the development, implementation and delivery of services for disadvantaged people and communities.
- Understanding of financial reporting.
- Eagerness to learn and develop skills further within the property industry.
