Hourly Wage:                    $26.75 to $29.66 per hour

Purpose

As the Food and Beverage Supervisor, you free pour exceptional guest service! You demonstrate care and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment, setting the example for the Food and Beverage team, to ensure every guest feels right at home whether they’re dining in our restaurant, ordering room service, or attending a conference or event. You bring every dining experience to life! You’re a natural-born leader, taking charge of day-to-day Food and Beverage café operations, to ensure each service period runs smoothly and hotel processes, stock control, and quality standards are executed like fine art.

Primary Responsibilities

  • With you on shift, you support all aspects of F&B operations and processes to run smoothly
  • With a hands-on approach, you set the example for your team, driving exceptional guest service, quality standards, sequence of service and immaculate grooming and presentation
  • Guests are delighted by you and your team upon entry, being personally greeted and seated promptly and you ensure their needs are met (and exceeded) by you or a team member timely and efficiently, whether it be table service, order taking, table clearing and prompt and accurate cashiering
  • The booking management system is organised and maintained for both current and future bookings
  • With your eagle eye for detail, the stock management system is managed according to process
  • Each shift, you ensure all venue opening and closing checklist items are completed accordingly and timely
  • Guest feedback is of utmost importance to you and the outlet’s continual improvement and you encourage team members to gather feedback at every opportunity
  • You support in the effective handling of guest complaints, always with a smile, escalating to your Manager as needed
  • You’re somewhat of a technology whiz, managing the Point of Sale system to update items, prices, logins and troubleshoot issues
  • Teamwork makes the dream work – you support all aspects of Conferences and Events, from day to day management, and communications to ensuring floor members assist when needed
  • You have exceptional product knowledge and keep abreast of the latest menu updates, trends, food & beverage pairings and more – and you share your knowledge with your team to help guide their service delivery
  • On the job training of team members occurs on a daily basis and you’re actively involved in the induction and onboarding of new starters and cross-training / upskilling existing team members
  • You drive team engagement, fostering a positive and enjoyable workplace culture within the outlet as well as more broadly within the hotel
  • You drive and deliver best practice throughout the outlet and challenge the process by consistently exploring new methods to enhance product and service efficiency
  • Keep consistent and open communication lines in with all relevant departments across the hotel
  • Keep your Manager informed of any problems and unusual matters
  • Cleanliness and tidiness are a priority – you keep the F&B outlet looking immaculate
  • This isn’t an exhaustive list – your Manager may have other reasonable tasks, projects or instructions on occasion.

 

Skills, Experience and Requirements

  • You hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Food Handlers Certificate
  • You have strong experience in food & beverage and demonstrated leadership potential
  • Demonstrable expertise in facilitating general food and beverage procedures and processes, and general operational activities
  • You have experience using Point of Sale system and executing sequence of service
  • You possess strong food & beverage, coffee, wine and cocktail knowledge
  • You can physically meet the demands for this role including constant standing & walking, frequent lifting and moving of objects up to 20 kgs (Hotel based)
  • Immaculately presented – you have exceptional grooming and always wear the appropriate uniform and name badge, with pride! You make sure your team always look the part too.
  • Exceptional communication skills - Multilingual would be viewed as an advantage, with spoken and written English at a proficient level.
  • Shift work will be required on a rotating roster and may include late shifts. Flexibility is a must.
