It’s an exciting time to be at TFE Hotels! We’re certainly going places and to support our expanding portfolio across New Zealand with our recent exciting partnership with Heritage Hotels, we’re on the lookout for a full-time Duty Manager.

Set on the scenic slopes of Ben Lomond Mountain (Te-taumata-o-Hakitekura), Rendezvous Heritage Hotel Queenstown offers alpine charm and breathtaking views of Lake Wakatipu, The Remarkables, and iconic peaks.

About the role:

 

As the Duty Manager, you will lead the dynamic Front Office team with the “hands-on” day-to-day operations and the delivery of high-level customer service to our guests.

Reporting to the Front Office Manager you’re pitch-perfect when it comes to understanding and exceeding guest expectations. You drive and thrive on meaningful connections – with both guests and the team. You’re a natural-born leader, a role model for our frontline, and an occasional peacemaker and problem-solver!?

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the hotel and front office team members.
  • Coordinate tasks for each shift and delegate to receptionists
  • Manage the daily check-in/check-out process and procedures.
  • Conduct daily team briefings
  • Resolve guest complaints promptly and efficiently

About You:

  • Experience in a supervisory or Night Auditor role in a hotel front office.
  • Proven experience in leading and effectively motivating a team
  • Immaculate grooming and personal presentation
  • Working knowledge of a Property Management System (Opera or Protel desirable)
  • Proven consistent high-level delivery of customer service.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal/fluent in English)
  • Manager’s Certificate and Liquor Controller Qualification (LCQ) or willingness to obtain.
  • First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Full permanent working rights for New Zealand
