Join the growing team at TFE Hotels as our Director of Sales New Zealand.
With an increased footprint in New Zealand, adding another 500+ rooms, we are looking for a sales whiz to lead our sales team.
Reporting to the Global Sales Officer, the Director of Sales, NZ will be expected to operate with a high degree of independence. You will play a pivotal role within the Leadership Team to implement and direct all aspects of our sales strategy to ensure the individual performance of each hotel meets and exceeds the annual sales targets as well as the overall group performance.

The role
- Creating, implementing and reviewing the sales strategies for all New Zealand hotels across sales contracted market segments.
- Working in conjunction with the Global sales team to deliver set goals and maximise inbound and outbound business into TFE Hotels locally and globally.
- Conduct needs analysis relating to sales of each of the individual hotels to determine areas requiring particular focus.
- Identify new opportunities across the network of hotels in New Zealand including creation of local heat maps.
- Foster positive relationships with a respectful and partnership-based approach both internally and externally.
- Set goals and expectations for the Sales team; Monitor and assess the team's performance to ensure they are meeting activity and sales targets.
- You will be responsible for and manage top corporate, travel agent and key partnerships relationships and manage key accounts for the portfolio
- Work collaboratively with the Operational Head of New Zealand and Revenue teams, to ensure goals and outcomes are aligned.
- Maintains an awareness of trends, practices, and new developments, economic and social changes affecting the profitability of the hotel through research, trade literature, field information and client contact and advises GSO as required.
- Co-ordinates the communication of sales activities with key stakeholders.
- Ensure healthy sales, operations and hotel relationships to allow common goal and tangible result setting.
- Prepares weekly and monthly sales reports e.g. forecasts, action plans and production reports for the GSO as required.
- Produce reports as needed for the hotels and deliver presentations to hotel owners and representatives.
- Ensure the team is delivering a seamless turnover from sales to operations while providing a high-level service.
- Provide high level of team engagement and training to ensure we are getting best results from the team.
Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in hotel management or related business course is desirable
- Minimum of seven to ten years of experience in a senior Hotel sales capacity.
- Prior experience in the development and execution of sales strategies at a group level and also individual hotel level.
- Strong relationship building skills to maximise conversion and sales performance.
- Leadership skills to develop and grow sales team.
- An ability to navigate and understand complex stakeholder environments.
- Sound understanding of emerging trends in the industry.
- Demonstrated businesses acumen with the ability to make sound decisions and understand commercial implications.
- Ability to think strategically and plan on a mid to long term scale.
- New Zealand drivers licence and own reliable car
