Management Accountant - OMP

Oceania Meat Processors (OMP), part of Ridley’s Ingredient Recovery segment, is a premium producer of mechanically deboned meat frozen block products and other raw materials for the global pet food industry. OMP also operates a manufacturing site in Timaru, New Zealand.
About the role
Reporting to the Finance & Commercial Manager for Ingredient Recovery, your role will support the Finance & Commercial Manager with financial analysis, month-end close processes, weekly reporting, weekly stocktakes, inventory control, budgeting, forecasting, raw material pricing, invoice processing and providing administrative support to teams at OMP’s Laverton & Timaru sites.
Working within the commercial team, this role will collaborate across various departments in the Ingredient Recovery division and continuously focus on improving processes and systems for better outcomes. The role will occasionally require travel to New Zealand.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Filing of AP invoices and reconciling supplier statements
- Perform Bank Account Reconciliations
- Keying of AP invoices, including checking, posting and sending of raw material purchase orders
- Sales invoicing, checking and posting of sales orders
- Daily reporting on sales and inventory
- Assistance in preparing payroll, AP and AR runs
- Provide weekly financial reports on key performance indicators for the division
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis
- Oversee month-end close, including accruals and P&L review
- Assist with regular stocktaking
- Manage inventory oversight
- Support regular forecasting activities
- Assist with annual budget preparation
- Support sales and procurement teams in annual contracting
- Support administrative teams with D365 system queries, invoice processing, and other ad-hoc requests
- Engage with Ridley’s central finance function for group reporting, including assistance in statutory reporting requirements and auditor engagement
Key Skills & Attributes
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role or professional practice
- Strong knowledge of general accounting and administration functions
- Eagerness to learn and grow within the role
- Ability to engage with key stakeholders across multiple functional areas
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong verbal, negotiation, and written communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Experience with Microsoft D365 or AX (desirable)
- Experience in inventory control (desirable)
- CA/CPA qualified or working towards qualification (desirable)
