Projects - Control Systems Engineer

The Role
Based at our Laverton North site and reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, you will operate within the agreed strategies and policies of Ingredient Recovery to assist in meeting the overall company objectives.
The key responsibilities for this position include:
- Complete works as required to maintain and optimise the sites Production network, including PLC, SCADA, camera and WIFI systems hardware and software.
- Identifying and reporting maintenance issues in relation to the site production network. Fault finding and problem, supporting preventative maintenance, modification and repairs on Production network equipment with the assistance of site electricians.
- Attending break downs as required in relation to the Production network/automation systems
- Review plant operation and participate in continuous improvement programs in conjunction with process engineers to deliver projects and process control improvements
- Training of Site maintenance electricians and others in PLC / SCADA system use and maintenance.
- Inventory Management – work with site electricians to complete requisition of supplies and spare parts, and stocktaking activities in relation to the site Production network.
The key requirements of this role include:
- Qualifications in Engineering or an Electrical Trade with a technical background, demonstrating extensive experience in control systems design, programming, and commissioning
- High Level Competency in PLC, SCADA, Ethernet I/P, Networking and Communication Protocol
- Demonstrated Experience in Electrical, Automation & control system engineering.
- 5+ years’ experience working as control systems engineer.
- Strong PLC and SCADA programming skills (preferably Allen Bradley RSLogix5000 and/or Studio5000 and Citect SCADA).
- Previous experience in Field Communication: DeviceNet, EthernetIP, Profibus & Modbus.
- Understand physical installation of control systems including basic electrical installation and safety knowledge.
- Understanding of PLC, SCADA and network hardware, including servers, processors,
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good reading, numeracy and problem-solving skills
- Good influencing and negotiation skills
- Organisational and time management skills
