Civic Events Assistant

Status: Permanent Full-Time (35 hours per week)
Salary: $84,054 - $96,662 per annum + 11.5% superannuation
Randwick City Council is an innovative and progressive Council committed to serving our vibrant community on the eastern beaches of Sydney. Our events team in the Economic Development & Placemaking department is seeking a Civic Events Assistant.
Purpose:
The Civic Events Assistant will provide administrative and production support to the EDP team in order to deliver Council’s Civic events. The role is responsible for the provision of administrative and supporting duties and to assist in the planning & running of a range of Civic Community events ranging from Citizenship ceremonies, official openings for capital works projects, annual award programs and presentations as well as other reoccurring or one-off council ceremonies and receptions.
About the role:
- Carry out a range of administrative and production duties for the Events Team in order to deliver a range of Civic events such as Citizenship Ceremonies, official opening events for capital works projects, award programs and other civic receptions at various venues including outdoor open spaces.
- Source appropriate production supplier quotes, such as catering, furniture hire, engraving, printing, distribution, venues, gifts, performers, forms of entertainment and amusements for activities etc for Council’s Civic events, make required recommendations to the Producer Events and events team, and manage relevant supplier relationships
- With support from the Producer Events, ensure that correct protocols are adhered to for Civic events and ceremonies including researching any new requirements as needed.
About you:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated experience in administration/event duties.
- Demonstrated ability to organise workloads, effectively manage and perform a number of concurrent tasks.
- Ability to work both autonomously and cooperatively in a team environment under tight time constraints, with competing priorities and deadlines, to achieve personal, departmental and organisational goals.
