About the role:  
 
Reporting to the Aquatic Operations Team Leader, the Aquatic Operation Supervisor is responsible for providing a customer focused service that ensures the safety and supervision of patrons within the aquatic area. This includes the effective guidance of lifeguards, event operations, water quality, administrative tasks and the maintenance and presentation of the aquatic area. 
 
Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Conducting visual inspections of the facility throughout the day
  • Being conversant with GSPOs and statutory requirements
  • Identity issues within the Plant Room 
  • Uphold reputation of SSCT through internal and external parties (customers, tenants, State and National Sporting Associations, contractors)
  • Manage daily operations to ensure pool spaces are set up correctly for bookings
  • Ensure Aquatic Equipment is maintained appropriately. 
  • Supervision and coordination of all lifeguards on deck, including awareness of staff placement to ensure the provision of a safe environment for patrons
  • Ensure you and your staff provide supervision of patrons in an aquatic environment
  • Educate patrons of the dangers and correct supervision whilst in the aquatic environment through water safety initiatives such as Watch around the Water (WAW) and Swim Safe
  • Conflict management
  • Coordinate emergency response and ensure staff are responding correctly; assist as required. 
  • Ensure all incident reports forms are completed accurately; ensure that all staff incident reports are reviewed prior to handing in the form to the Venue Responder. 
  • Maintain Privacy Laws in relation to incident report forms.
  • Attend and assist with all quarterly training sessions; and other trainings / meetings as requested ensuring participation is positive with a high level of engagement 

 
Required skills: 

  • SISSS00111 - Pool Lifeguard – including Deep Water Accreditation depth test to 5m  
  • Provide First Aid 
  • Current CPR  
  • Working with Children Check 
  • Provide Advanced Resuscitation (desirable)
