The Role 

We are seeking an experienced and customer focused Maintenance Officer/ Gardner to look after Woodlands Park Retirement Village on a permanent full-time basis. 

 

Reporting to the Village Manager, this role is responsible for:

  • Delivering general maintenance and repairs of buildings, fixtures and fittings to homes and associated structures to provide a pleasant and safe environment for residents, staff and visitors
  • Assisting with gardening activities across the village
  • Use preferred suppliers where relevant and ensure all works are conducted within budget and follow workflow procedures
  • Carry-out scheduled tasks within agreed timelines
  • Responsible for inspection, delivery of preventative and corrective maintenance of the facility
  • Provide supervision and coordination of site contractors
  • Ensure an aesthetic, compliant and safe working environment

 

Your Background

  • Demonstrated competence in a maintenance role and in gardening 
  • Understanding of machinery use and tools required for the job.
  • Organised, pro-active and able to effectively manage and prioritise multiple tasks
  • Willingness to attend occasional out of hour emergency issues
  • Ability to work individually and in a team
  • Ability to supervise and liaise with trades
  • Basic computer skills
  • Current Driver’s Licence 
  • Level 2 First Aid Certificate (or be willing to obtain one)
  • A genuine interest in assisting and working with the Elderly.
