We are looking for a Chef to work Full time and in this role is responsible for supporting the Head and Sous Chef in a busy kitchen by delivering consistently high-quality food, handling purchase orders and ensuring that only authorised items are received. This is an exciting role with great team and working conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the kitchen is stocked with produce required to provide a full catering service and that wastage is maintained at a minimum;
- Pride yourself on quality rather than quantity;
- With customer satisfaction our core focus, you will create menus to suit a strong seasonal tourist market as well as meeting the expectations of local residents
- At all times ensure proper and safe use of all materials, consumables and equipment;
- Maintain food safety policies;
- Keep within food and labour costs;
- Lead and train your team to maintain the standards you have set
About You:
- At least 3 year's experience as a Chef
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and Certificate in Food Safety
- Understanding of budget / cost control accompanied with basic Microsoft Office computer skills;
- Ability to handle and use approved commercial chemicals in accordance with the Safety Data Sheets;
- Ability to work unsupervised and meet deadlines as well as dealing with high volumes
- Excellent communication skills to build rapport with customers and other staff/managers.
- Above all, a positive attitude with a flexible approach to ensure the smooth operation of the Tavern's kitchen
