Primary objective:
The person will be able to work diligently on site, providing a high standard of tyre fitting skills and knowledge. Appreciate their role in delivering customer service across the business and to the Client.
Specifically the role is accountable for:

OVERALL OBJECTIVES
- Maintain a high level of quality and service to the Client.
- Fit and remove wheel assemblies, tyre and rims to EM vehicles in a safe and efficient manner while always striving to minimise downtime on production equipment.
- Assist with regular pit and tyre inspections, together with relevant Client personnel, of mine operating areas and conditions.
- Maintain a willingness to learn attitude to develop tyre fitting skills
- Ensure the work area is kept clean and tidy prior to shift changeover and that housekeeping is performed daily for the up-coming shift.
- Complete any other duties allocated.
TECHNICAL OBJECTIVES
- Comply with IMS policies, standards and procedures.
- Fit and remove wheels from any other type of vehicle according to Otraco Best Practices (OBP)
- Mount and strip any other type or tyre and rim assembly according to OBP.
- Perform repairs to tyres and tubes according to OBP.
- Operate forklifts and tyre handlers according to OBP.
- Perform services for equipment specified under the Scope of Work only, unless agreed upon by both parties and the recorded in an agreement variation process.
- Branding EM tyres (if applicable) and stamping EM rim bases with identification numbers to facilitate tyre and rim tracking in accordance with Client procedure.
- Maintain tyre operating pressures in accordance with site specifications.
- Perform equipment checks and calibrations according to procedures.
- Perform tasks to Otraco and Client standards and communicate with colleagues and supervisors effectively
HEALTH, SAFETY, ENVIRONMENT AND TRAINING OBJECTIVES
- Work safely and follow Occupational Health and Safety Procedures.
- Comply with site ‘lock out / tag out’ procedures.
- Report hazards, unsafe work conditions and equipment.
- Use and maintain personal protective equipment according to procedures.
- Perform vehicle pre-start checks according to procedure.
- Perform job hazard analysis and take control actions to reduce the risk of injury or damage to equipment.
- Comply with site emergency procedures.
- Accurately record tyre change or other information and file or forward the information as required.
- Clean and perform visual inspections and determine the suitability of wheel components to remain in service.
- Assist with regular pit and tyre inspections, together with relevant client personnel, of mine operating areas and conditions.
Job Specification: (essential or desirable qualities required – i.e. education, knowledge / skills)
ESSENTIAL
- Current Work Safe / High Risk Forklift Ticket
- Certificate II in Automotive (Mechanical - Tyre fitting and repair Heavy).
- A valid and appropriate heavy vehicle driver’s license (Class HR in Australia).
- A valid and appropriate light vehicle driver’s license (Class C in Australia).
DESIRABLE
- One year of Earthmover tyre fitting experience.
