Mobile Application Developer (mid-level)

About the role:

You’ll be working for a product focussed team building out a novel mobile application and web platform – as a Developer it’s not only about creating well-engineered software solutions but also contributing to the product as a whole by applying and suggesting better ways through smart use of technologies.

The Avant Practice Solutions technology is new, this is not a legacy system that needs extensive support and rewrite, we are working on a recently rolled out technology platform written in C# .Net core and hosted on Azure and we are looking for team members who are up to date with current technologies and can help us extend the application with a mobile presence.

Our offices are based in Melbourne CBD, we offer hybrid working arrangements.

You will be accountable for:

• Ensuring all solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements.
• Ensuring the quality of solutions delivered are adequately high to allow testing to complete on time.
• Creating scalable solutions that perform under load and with large data sets.
• Always thinking about the maintainability of the solutions.
• Ensuring solutions meet security requirements.
• Timely delivery of solutions, designs and any other project deliverables.

Skills and experience required:

• Tertiary qualification in relevant field such as computer science or software development.
• 3-5 years’ experience with v4.x .Net Asp.Net web development
• 3-5 years’ experience with mobile development from either iOS or Android based on Xamarin or .Net
• MAUI will be highly regarded
• Typescript or Vue.js experience will be highly valued but we will also consider talented mobile developers who are interested in moving into Flutter development and are willing to learn.
• Strong Relational Database Experience such as SQLlite preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in product-oriented software development, i.e. you have created a product solution that end users will like, not only a good technical solution that meets the requirements.
• Strong experience in interfacing with web-service-based APIs.
• Any hands-on experience also building APIs will be seen as a positive.
• Deep awareness of UI / UX best practice for mobile applications.
• Strong understanding of Push Notification services for iOS or Android, experience with web sockets
• A good working knowledge of cloud services within Azure or AWS.
