Avant is looking for an experienced Governance Advisor to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis in our Sydney CBD office.
The key responsibilities include:
- Governance: Assist the Group Company Secretary to administer processes, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory obligations while fostering efficiency and collaboration between board and management.
- Regulatory compliance: Maintain charters, policies and corporate records and ensure adherence to ASIC, APRA and other legal requirements.
- Oversight: Manage the day-to-day activities associated with Director Elections, the Annual General Meeting and annual reporting while ensuring effective communication with stakeholders.
- Board and Committee meetings: Oversee the co-ordination of Board and Board Committee meetings.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- This role is ideal for a legally qualified company secretary.
- A Bachelor of Law (or similar) and qualifications from the Governance Institute of Australia and/or AICD.
- Specialised knowledge of the Corporations Act and APRA prudential standards.
- At least 5+ years’ experience as an Appointed Company Secretary of a highly regulated company and 3+ years’ experience as a corporate lawyer or financial services lawyer.
- Overseeing and maintaining Group governance structures, including charters and key governance documents.
- Developing and implementing governance policies, processes and procedures.
