The Program 

 

Snack & Chat is a Red Cross community activity that offers social interaction and personal support, alleviating social isolation of vulnerable people in the community. 

 

The Opportunity 

 

For this role you will need good conversational skills and the ability to relate to and empathise with a broad range of people, including those with different lived experiences, abilities, and cultures.  

Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the world’s largest humanitarian network.  

 

The Impact 

 

As a volunteer, you will help vulnerable people to feel safe and improve their social connection by listening, empathising, and providing them with a friendly voice. Where appropriate, you may provide information on relevant local services. You will have the opportunity to learn from many people’s diverse history and knowledge, as well as feeling the satisfaction of giving back to others. 

 

Application requirements

  • For this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check, which will be organised through Red Cross
