  • 10 hours per week for 10 weeks
  • 5 hours per day for 2 days per week | 9.00am – 2.00pm

The program 

Wellbeing Health and Safety supports and guides all Red Cross People and the Australian Red Cross Society to meet their WHS Act 2020 obligations. 

The opportunity

Provide university level health and safety students to gain practical experience in the application of their theoretical knowledge. For this role you will need good conversational skills and the ability to relate to and empathise with a broad range of Red Cross People who are delivering humanitarian services. You will be comfortable using computers, including the Microsoft Office Suite i.e. Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel and navigating through the Red Cross intranet. You will be prepared to follow direction and participate in various tasks which reflect ‘work as real’ in all levels of WHS.

The impact 

As a student placement volunteer, you will support continual improvement of the Red Cross WHS Management system, including the review of hazards and updating controls that are reasonable and practicable and as noted in the various regulations and codes of practice. 

Application requirements:

  • For this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check, which will be organised through Red Cross upon acceptance of your offer
  • You will need to provide a recent copy of your CV
  • Provide details for two professional references, one from your degree coordinator/lecturer and one from a supervisor/manager where you have undertaken any paid employment over the last two year
