Extreme Heat Awareness Day Western Sydney - Corporate Volunteering
- One-off opportunity
- Wednesday, 05 February 2025
- Location: Blacktown Train Station
- Time: Shifts available between 8am to 6pm
Why Choose to volunteer for Extreme Heat Awareness Day?
- Heatwaves kill more people than any other natural hazard.
- You’ll be helping to get the word out about the dangers of extreme heat, practical ways for people to be prepared and what to do in a heatwave.
- Our research tells us that people don’t know the risks of heatwaves and don’t know what to do. You’ll be helping us to change that.
- Be part of a team and feel valued for your time.
Opportunity
Red Cross is calling on volunteers to help distribute important heatwave preparedness messaging for the inaugural Extreme Heat Awareness Day.
During your shift, you’ll be:
- Engaging with community members at a busy thorough fare in western Sydney.
- Handing out key heatwave preparedness messages.
- Handing out give aways to help people stay cool.
What skills do you need?
- Friendly and positive attitude.
- Sociable and engaging with others.
- Happy to work as part of a team.
What’s the process?
- Register your interest and our team will be in touch.
Red Cross is an inclusive organisation and welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds and experience levels, so if you have some spare time and want to give back to your community, we’d love to hear from you.
The Impact
