The program
Independent wellbeing check calls are a Red Cross workforce support service that are made by trained volunteers. The purpose of the call is to check on and support the wellbeing of Emergency Service workforce personnel after engagement.
Trained volunteers use Psychological First Aid to support the wellbeing of the Emergency Service workforce. The focus of independent wellbeing check calls is on workforce wellbeing and linking people with appropriate support. These calls provide a platform for the workforce to share experiences, receive support, and provide operational feedback and suggestions for improvement at the end of their engagement.
Independent wellbeing check callers are volunteers who care about supporting the wellbeing of other Red Cross personnel. All independent wellbeing check callers should reflect the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross in their behaviour.
The opportunity
