Work Experience / Community Service - Red Cross Shop NSW
- Short term arrangement as required
- Weekdays
Why choose to participate in Work Experience with Red Cross?
Australian Red Cross recognises that work experience gives students the opportunity to gain specific skills and insight into the industry and workplace they are located in. Students will be able to learn and observe how the organisation operates.
The program
Red Cross Shops sell new and donated clothes, accessories and homewares to raise funds to help people in need. Each year, we rescue 2750 tonnes of clothing from landfill, give opportunities to 5000 volunteers, and generate funds to help Red Cross support vulnerable people in Australia and around the world. The proceeds from the sale of items support the vital everyday work of Red Cross, providing relief in times of crisis and care where it's needed most.
The opportunity
By joining the team for your work experience you’ll get the opportunity to:
• Provide customer service
• Create window and visual merchandising displays
• Sort and clean donations
• Assist with general housekeeping and cleanliness of the shop
The impact
Students will be able to learn and observe how the organisation operates.
Application requirements
Workplace Learning Agreement Form to be completed and signed by Student, School and Australian Red Cross.
