  • One-off opportunity
  • Friday, 25th of April 2025
  • Location: Hyde Park, Sydney at end of Anzac Parade
  • Morning Shift: 12:00pm – 2:30pm

The Program

Volunteers support our Returned and Services personnel and their families through the provision of a free refreshment service available in Hyde Park upon the completion of the Anzac Day commemoration marches.

The Opportunity

There is an opportunity to support and talk with members of our Returned and Services personnel and their families as tea, coffee and Anzac biscuits are served at the conclusion of the Anzac Day commemoration marches in Hyde Park. There are four time shifts which will cover:

  • Set up equipment and supplies to be able to make tea/coffee for those using the refreshment centre
  • Serve tea/coffee to the public
  • Pack up all equipment and supplies at the end of event, ensuring that all rubbish is moved to the designated area for council removal
  • Act as a representative for Red Cross

What do I need to bring?

  • Wear closed-in, comfortable shoes
  • Wear comfortable clothing (keep in mind it may get dirty)
  • Personal sun protective gear (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)
  • Own dietary-specific snacks if required
  • We recommend bringing a water bottle to limit single-use plastic.
  • Gloves and hand sanitiser will be provided, or you can bring your own

The Impact

Red Cross has been providing this free service for many years, with feedback on how appreciative people are to have a quiet place to sit, enjoy a cup of tea and catch up with their mates during this important commemoration.
