The Program

A national project delivering bilingual sexual and reproductive health education. In these sessions participants will learn about contraception, safer sex, pregnancy choices and understanding the menopause.

 

The Opportunity 

For this role you will need to focus on delivering outreach activities to engage community members, gather feedback, and encourage participation on health education sessions. It supports the development of culturally responsive initiatives, enhances program visibility, and ensures alignment with organizational goals to promote inclusion, empowerment, and well-being. 

 

The Impact

As a Community Engagement Support Volunteer, you will work with participants from migrant and refugee backgrounds to enhance their health literacy and increase their understanding of how to access various health services in Tasmania. This role offers a valuable opportunity to learn from health educators about addressing health challenges within these communities and supporting individuals in managing their health effectively.

 

Application Requirements

  • For this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check, which will be organised through Red Cross
  • You will need to provide a recent copy of your CV and provide details for two professional references
  • The role will also require you to hold or apply for a Working With Children Check or Working With Vulnerable People Check depending on your State/Territory.  Red Cross can assist you to apply for this check
