Homestay Program
The Red Cross Homestay Program is an early intervention service that provides case management, advocacy, and referral support to individual, and families currently housed, but at risk of homelessness. Homestay collaborates with people to prevent them from becoming homeless and to assist them to sustain new or existing tenancy. Homestay provides intensive support and works within a strengths-based model to assist individuals in meeting their goals and addressing the barriers they face.
About the role
The Case Worker provides casework support within various Red Cross Community Program portfolios. The role provides individualised support to clients to identify strengths and needs and assist in setting and attaining identified goals. Work with other agencies and organisations in a collaborative approach to source appropriate support for clients. The Case Worker also contributes to co-design processes and adapts to innovated ways of working to improve Red Cross’s response to the needs of clients.
What you will bring
- Ability to provide high quality, specialist casework support and case management
- A strong understanding of how to holistically assess complex client needs, including conducting risk assessments, and developing effective case plans and safety planning
- Proven ability to identify service gaps and manage complex cases within a context of competing priorities
- Demonstrated cultural competence and the ability to collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds
- Application of knowledge, skills, and experience in a variety of client practice approaches and frameworks
- Proven capacity to be adaptive and resilient and to work independently in a self-directed manner, and as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated understanding of the complex needs of children and young people is desirable
Mandatory requirements for this role
- A valid Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- A current Australian Driver Licence

This role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award - Level 4. Salary from $85,145.84 FTE + superannuation + salary packaging.
