About the role

Australian Red Cross Young Parents Program (YPP) works to ensure best outcomes for children and families by improving the capacity of young parents with complex needs aged 13 to 25, to live and parent independently. YPP takes a strengths-based early intervention approach, building the capacity of young parents to live independently in appropriate housing, develop parenting skills to ensure the best outcomes for their children, and break the cycle of intergenerational trauma, abuse and neglect.

In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating individual and group education across the Central Coast, in home or an alternative location, to suit parent and family needs. You will support parent, vocational, and child development education through tailored education sessions and targeted intervention.

This is a part time position, for 9 hours per week and to be worked flexibly across two days. The role is based in Gosford, with travel across the Central coast required to service clients' needs and complete home visits.

What you will bring

  • Demonstrated group work skills
  • Experience working with individuals and families experiencing complex support needs, in a community services’ organisation or similar setting
  • Prior experience in educational delivery of parenting and youth education groups
  • Working knowledge and relevant experience in developing, tailoring and delivering a variety of educational materials
  • Practical experience in the implementation and coordination of education interventions/strategies
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office tools, such as outlook, word and excel

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in education, training, youth work or related fields

Further information

This role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award - Level 4. Salary from $85,145.84 FTE + superannuation + salary packaging.
