About the role
Bilingual Support Workers are integral members of our Humanitarian Settlement Program (HSP) team, bringing cultural knowledge and fluency to support newly arrived humanitarian entrants to settle and orientate to life in Australia.
This is an opportunity for someone who speaks Kiswahili (essential), Kinyamulenge, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, French or Lingala (desirable)
About you
- Fluency in Kiswahili (essential), Kinyamulenge, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, French or Lingala (desirable)
- Understanding of the people, cultural and political history of the people of DR Congo, Rwanda and Burundi and the Swahili linguistic regions of East and Central Africa
- Confidence conversing in English to other professionals in private and public settings
- Understanding of the needs of humanitarian migrants who have experienced multiple and complex vulnerabilities
- Demonstrated competence in using essential business software (Microsoft Office) and mobile technologies
- Driver's License and Working with Children are mandatory requirements for this role

This role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award - Level 3, hourly from $37.36 + casual loading + superannuation + access to salary packaging.
