About the role
The Humanitarian Settlement Program (HSP) provides services and support to migrants and refugees settling in Australia. The Program assists Clients to build the skills and knowledge they need to become self-reliant, contributing members of our society. Services delivered to HSP Clients are determined by the assessment of their needs and achieved through individualised case management plans.
In this role you will support refugees and humanitarian entrants within the HSP with entry-level information, education and practical support. In addition, you will also coordinate, supervise, train and support volunteers.
What you will bring
- Arabic and English language skills
- Working knowledge and relevant experience in community services and working with clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- Sound understanding of issues affecting people impacted by migration
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively and diplomatically with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Sound understanding of Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience in coordinating, managing, training and supporting volunteers
- Working with vulnerable people check
- Drivers licence

This role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award - Level 3. Annual salary $73,823.36 + superannuation + access to salary packaging.
