About the role

The ESG Lead ensures the integration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles into the Australian Red Cross way of working. The major focus of the role will be to develop an ESG strategy, identify improvement opportunities and report on ESG performance across the organisation. You will work with a range of internal teams to ensure that Australian Red Cross is complying with applicable ESG regulations, reporting externally and taking a leadership position within the industry.

Day to day you will:

  • Support development of a coordinated ESG strategy which considers regulatory requirements and industry trends
  • Gather, assess, and report on ESG metrics from various sources, such as supplier reports, sustainability systems and third-party ESG systems
  • Benchmark ESG performance against industry peers, global standards and key sustainability indices
  • Evaluate current data and practices within Red Cross to identify opportunities for improved ESG performance
  • Work with investment teams, corporate leaders, or clients to integrate ESG considerations into decision-making processes, investment strategies and operations
  • Monitor developments in ESG related regulations and policies to ensure compliance and mitigate risk
  • Engage with key internal and external stakeholders, including investors, ESG rating agencies and regulatory bodies to communicate ESG risks, opportunities, and performance

About you

  • You hold experience in a similar role in integrating ESG data from a range of sources and producing meaningful reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • You are proficient in analysing large data sets, both quantitative and qualitative, to assess ESG risks and opportunities using tools like Excel, PowerBI or industry databases
  • You have experience in reviewing ESG regulatory requirements to determine compliance requirements as well as risk assessment frameworks in identifying, assessing and mitigating organisational risks
  • You have proven ability to present with conviction and successfully influence stakeholders at difference levels of the organisation
