About the role

The Senior Manager – Community Programs and Business Operations is a critical leadership role in NT responsible for the strategic and operational management of a portfolio of territory-wide programs that support the delivery of strategically aligned community programs. This role includes direct and indirect leadership across a geographically dispersed workforce of staff and volunteers.

The Senior Manager is responsible for brokering local, regional, and territory sector, community and government collaborations and partnerships to advance Red Cross’ strategic and revenue generation objectives and mobilising volunteers, members and communities, to access and support Australian Red Cross at the local, regional, and territory level.

The role ensures that Red Cross is represented and that organisational interests are actively promoted at key forums and with key stakeholders to engage volunteers, members and communities across our programs and supports by leading a team to engage across communities while also leading and coaching community mobilisation and Business Operations focussed team members.

 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong stakeholder engagement skills and be proficient in collaboration, resource planning and prioritisation, and strategic planning.

You will demonstrate:

  • Thorough knowledge of solution focused customer service practices
  • Well-developed cultural competence skills and the ability to work with and lead teams of people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong understanding, (or ability to rapidly gain understanding of issues affecting people impacted by migration, and their vulnerabilities, needs and strengths.
  • Strong understanding of community resilience, preparedness, and recovery program models.
  • Evidenced ability to research, assimilate and analyse complex information and use this to optimise and continuously improve business approaches and models.
  • Strong ability to use a data driven approach to monitor performance, identify issues, and develop and implement corrective actions.
  • Strong understanding of key drivers of success within teams to enable the achievement of organisational goals.
  • Ability to think and plan goals in the long term as well as in the present.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead teams in continuous improvement approach to program implementation and ways of working.
  • Proven track record as an effective leader, supporting and building positive and constructive relationships within teams.
  • High-level communication skills catering for diversity within the team, and with the ability to express ideas clearly, listen effectively and provide feedback constructively.
  • Substantial demonstrated knowledge and experience in providing programs to consumers from diverse backgrounds and cultures, including (but not limited to) First Nations, CALD and LGBTQIA+.
  • Ability to operate under limited direction from senior employees and work with and lead teams and people from diverse backgrounds and create a collaborative working environment.
  • High-level of interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Undertake significant projects involving sound analytical skills and demonstrated ability to assess, evaluate and solve problems.
