About the role
This position plays a pivotal role focusing on building sector capability and enhancing
emergency response readiness in the Northern Territory. This role specifically
concentrates on building the capability of internal and external stakeholders involved in evacuation centre management to ensure effective response during emergencies.

Day to Day you will
• Design, develop, and implement capability building activities, trainings and initiatives
tailored to evacuation centre management and other relevant areas in the Northern Territory context.
• Incorporate best practices, protocols, and local considerations into training
materials to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
• Facilitate capability building sessions, trainings and workshops for stakeholders involved in
evacuation centre management and other emergency management.
• Work collaboratively with local stakeholders to identify training needs and gaps in emergency services including
evacuation centre management.
• Develop strategies to enhance sector capability through skill development,
scenario-based exercises, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including local
authorities, community organisations, and Indigenous communities.
What you will bring
Demonstrated sound technical knowledge and expertise in developing and
delivering capability building activities, trainings and initiatives, preferably in emergency
management or related fields.
• Sound understanding of evacuation centre management principles, protocols,
and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage
effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Indigenous culture and sensitivity to community needs in the
Northern Territory context is advantageous.
A current Driver’s licence is a mandatory requirements for this role.
