General Manager
Mantra Parramatta, positioned in the Parramatta CBD, offers a touch of chic in the heart of Sydney's west. With over 180 studio and 1 bedroom apartments, Social House dining and bar, 3 conference rooms, gym and pool, Mantra Parramatta is a popular venue for government, corporate, group and leisure guests to enjoy.
As General Manager, you will have a presence that evokes comfort and style and embody the art of human connection, creating meaningful and impactful relationships with your team, guests and external stakeholders. You will have your finger on the pulse, guiding, coaching and mentoring your team to achieve excellence across all departments and key metrics.
The Role
- Base Salary $120,000 - $135,000, experience based + super & bonus incentive
- Relocation support may be offered for the ideal candidate, to be discussed upon application
- Oversee the operations and team at Mantra Parramatta, encompassing 180 rooms, restaurant, bar and conference facilities.
- This role calls for a versatile leader with strong operational expertise, who thrives in a hands-on environment and leads by example
- Previous experience in Strata Management in a hotel environment is highly desirable
- Personal and professional development opportunities including support to obtain Real Estate Licence if not held
- Free onsite car parking and close to public transport (train)
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage all facets of the hotel, including team development and recruitment, commercial performance and overall profitability
- Be well versed in financial budgets and targets and prepare reporting to the Area General Manager
- Strong commercial acumen to ensure the hotel’s profitability and success
- Be instrumental in driving changes and improvements in performance and implementing strategies in line with business objectives
- Create and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including apartment owners, guests and regional shared services
- Maintain excellent product and service standards whilst maximising revenue and balancing expenses
- Focus on recruiting and developing a team that is engaged in driving a positive customer sentiment
Skills and Experience
- Possess previous experience as a General Manager in a corporate hotel, with a good understanding of Food & Beverage and Events
- You will lead by example creating an environment where your team are encouraged and motivated to be their true self each day
- Confidence in your capability to build strong relationships, effectively resolve difficult situations and implement solutions that improve the service levels and financial results of the business
- Past experience working with body corporates in an Management Letting Rights (MLR) setting is desirable
- Comprehension of the key metrics that impact and grow hospitality businesses, using this knowledge to drive top line revenue and motivating your team to do the same
- Hold current Real Estate licence (Class 1) (advantageous, not crucial)
