Night Cleaner / Porter
Purpose
As a Night Porter / Cleaner, your primary responsibility will be to uphold the cleanliness of the hotel's public areas, ensuring a delightful experience for our valued guests. Additionally, you will be on hand to provide assistance with any overnight guest inquiries that may arise. Essential attributes for excelling in this role include strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset. Reliability is paramount, as you will work independently during the hours of 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM, contributing as a part-time team member with a commitment of at least 20 hours per week.
Primary Responsibilities
- Answer all incoming phones and respond accordingly
- Conduct security checks as per policy, procedures and checklist
- Embrace the cleaning challenge, sprucing up both indoor and outdoor public areas, restocking linen, housekeeping and maintenance trolleys to meet our high cleanliness and presentation standards
- Expertly handle specialised equipment and chemicals with safety in mind
- Assist guests with all enquiries and complaints, and provide accurate information to guests about the property facilities and features
- Be the eyes and ears for our maintenance and guest services teams, reporting any issues promptly, from maintenance problems, to damaged equipment and missing items
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role (as a cleaner/room attendant/public areas attendant) is a plus
- Your communication style is warm and welcoming, making both guests and team members feel at ease
- You have an eye for detail and work efficiently, managing your time well and taking pride in your tasks
- Adaptability and physical fitness to work in both internal and external environments, including staircases and uncovered areas.
- You enjoy collaborating with colleagues from various backgrounds
- Reliable transportation and availability to work a variety of shifts including weekends and public holidays ensures you are part of our dependable team
