Purpose

As a Hotel Operations Trainee, your role will involve developing a thorough operational understanding of a hotel. This will be achieved through hands-on experience in crucial operational departments such as Housekeeping, Food and Beverage, and Front Office operations. Simultaneously, you will acquire a level of competency that will serve as a solid foundation for your ongoing career development within the hospitality industry.

 

Primary Responsibilities

Your role encompasses several key areas, working within a diverse team to ensure an exceptional guest experience and varied learning outcome

  • Follow the duties as outlined in the position Job Descriptions for each departmental role undertaken, which will be given at each stage of the training program
  • Attend monthly meetings to monitor progress through the Traineeship, as requested by Talent & Culture and/or the General Manager
  • Complete department evaluations at the completion of each departmental stage of the training.
  • Complete projects/assessments in a timely manner given during the Traineeship
  • Commit to meeting your mentor once on a monthly basis. If possible a face to face meeting or visual through MS Teams

 

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a customer facing hospitality role is a plus
  • Possession of a valid RSA or an equivalent qualification for the specific Country / State / Territory
  • Genuine passion for guest care, engaging with patrons and collaborating within a team of diverse professionals
  • Capable of embracing a flexible rotating schedule, including nights, overnights, weekends, and public holidays
  • Strong work ethic, reliable and a commitment to excellence
