Accounts Receivable Officer

Purpose
The Accounts Receivable Officer - Shared Services will provide end to end Accounts Receivable support dealing with multiple properties within a Property Management System. The Accounts Receivable Officer – Shared Services will perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying and sending invoices, reconciling & posting payments, completing adjustment forms in line with company policies & procedures. As well as maintaining the Accounts Receivable aging ledger, including following up overdue invoices, investigating short payments, maintaining record of follow up actions and attending Credit Meetings.
Primary Responsibilities
- Review and email invoices daily
- Accurately apply payments received based on remittance advice provided
- Complete adjustment forms as required
- Perform follow-up on aged accounts per Accor’s standard policies & procedures
- Attend regular Credit Meetings to provide updates on aged accounts
- Run Accounts Receivable aging reports
- Respond to Properties, Wholesalers & Agent requests for information (with a 2 business day service standard)
- Work with Wholesalers/Agents and internal teams to resolve any discrepancies
- Ensures all processes are documented and updated regularly.
- Ensures proper recordkeeping and will assist in data collection for audit purposes
- Ensure any requests or issues are resolved in a positive & timely manner or referred to your direct manager for resolution
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in Accounts Receivable or working with a Property Management System (Opera)
- Experience working in a Shared Services Accounts Receivable environment highly regarded
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Superb time management and high attention to detail
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Ability to meet deadlines and report progress
- Maintains confidentiality of corporate and shareholder information
- Comfortable working with Excel, using formula’s and reconciling
- Familiar with contract language and analysis
- Strong customer service experience
- Knowledge of general accounting principles, month end process, etc.
